Bocal (the "app") is a project made by Circuit 9 inc. ("Circuit 9", "We").

Circuit 9 is aware that the protection of your privacy is important and it is in that regard that we have drawn up this Privacy Policy to help you understand what data we collect, how we use it and the choices you can make as part of our Service (as defined in our Terms of Use). Some of the concepts below are a bit technical, but we did our best to explain things in a simple and clear way. We will be happy to answer your questions and comments regarding this charter. Account Information

In order to simplify account creation, we use the services of Facebook to authenticate you. When you create an account you agree to provide public information of your Facebook account. That is to say :

  • Facebook ID
  • Cover picture
  • Lastname
  • Firstname
  • e-mail
  • Age rank (i.e. <18, 18-21, 21+)
  • Gender
  • Link to your timeline
  • Locale (Language and country e.g. en_US)
  • Profile picture
  • Time zone
  • Last update
  • Verified account or not

You can change some of this information at any time from the Application Profile screen or from the application settings of your Facebook profile.

Saved Information

Due to the nature of the Service, we need to know your geographical position in order to provide you with personalized content, in relation to where you are located. In addition, other information such as your ip address, date and time could be saved in log files.

This information will be updated on an ad hoc basis when and only when you are using the Application.

When you publish a post, the information will be saved in a database. We may use or store this data anywhere Circuit 9 operates, including in countries other than the one you live in.

If you delete your account, we may keep copies of your data in our backups in accordance with the law or for legitimate business purposes (such as to prevent fraud and spam) as defined in Terms of Use.

Shared Information

When you publish a post, other users will be able to deduce that you are or were present at a given location. The same applies if you or another user share the post on other social networks, such as Facebook or Twitter, or elsewhere.

If you contact the author of a post through the Service's messaging or otherwise, the author may also deduce that you are in a certain geographical area since the Content is available according to your geographical position.

Circuit 9 may share your personal information if we believe that such communication is necessary to satisfy a legal, regulatory or legal request to protect the security, rights or property of the public, any person or Circuit 9, or to detect, prevent or remedy a fraud, security or technical problem. Otherwise, your information will never be shared or sold to third parties.


Circuit 9 uses Google Analytics on our website ( for, among other things, measure the traffic. To collect information, Google Analytics uses cookies. You can refer to their Privacy Policy for more details.

Modification of the Privacy Policy

We may be required to make changes to this policy. These will then be published on this page. If you continue to use the Service after these changes take effect, you are in effect accepting this policy as amended. If the changes are considered to be significant enough, we may notify you in advance by e-mail to the address you have provided us or to obtain your consent under the conditions provided by law.


When Circuit 9 provides a translation of the French version of this Privacy Policy, you agree that this translation is provided solely for your convenience and that the French version of this Policy governs your relationship with Circuit 9.

In the event of any inconsistency between the French version of this Privacy Policy and the translation, the French version prevails.
